Bryan spent the whole of his career in public service, and retired from the National Audit Office in 1998 where he served as a Director. The main focus of his work was to undertake and lead value for money studies on Central Government programmes. At that time the mission statement was ‘to help the taxpayer spend wisely.’
Since retirement, he has been very active in his local church, including being part of a small team project managing the re-building of the church and halls. He is also a trustee of a local charity that helps the disadvantaged to improve their life skills and gain employment.
Bryan and his wife Jean have two sons and their five grandchildren give them much joy. Bryan also enjoys gardening, walking, reading and socialising with family and friends.
